Install Loc8ID as an app

Add Loc8ID to your home screen and it opens in one tap, full-screen — and pages you’ve opened keep working offline. Here’s how on every phone and computer.

Why install? The best reason is Find Me — install it before you need it, and it’ll show your exact location even with no signal or data. Installing is free, needs no account, and it’s just a shortcut — nothing extra is downloaded.

On your phone

Add to Home Screen

Open the page you want (the Find Me page is the one to keep handy), then follow the steps for your browser.

iPhone & iPad (Safari)

  1. Tap the Share icon (a square with an up arrow) in the toolbar.
  2. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
  3. Tap Add — a Loc8ID icon appears on your Home Screen.

On iOS this works in Safari — open the page there first.

Android (Chrome)

  1. Tap the ⋮ menu (top-right).
  2. Tap Add to Home screen (it may say Install app).
  3. Confirm with Install / Add.

Android (Firefox)

  1. Tap the ⋮ menu.
  2. Tap Install (or Add to Home Screen).
  3. Confirm to place the icon.

Samsung Internet

  1. Tap the menu (≡ or ⋮).
  2. Choose Add page to › Home screen.
  3. Confirm to add the icon.

On your computer

Install as an app

Most desktop browsers show an install icon — a small monitor with a down-arrow — on the right of the address bar. Click it, or use the menu below.

Chrome

  1. Click the install icon (monitor with a down-arrow) at the right of the address bar.
  2. Or open the ⋮ menu › Cast, save, and share › Install page as app…
  3. Click Install — Loc8ID opens in its own window.

Microsoft Edge

  1. Click the install icon in the address bar.
  2. Or open the … menu › Apps › Install this site as an app.
  3. Click Install.

Safari (macOS)

  1. Open the page in Safari.
  2. In the menu bar, choose File › Add to Dock…
  3. Loc8ID appears in your Dock as its own app.

Requires macOS Sonoma or later.

Firefox (desktop)

Desktop Firefox can’t install web apps — but Find Me works fully in a normal tab. Bookmark it (Ctrl / ⌘ + D), or use Chrome or Edge to install.

You don’t have to install anything
