Enable location sharing

Loc8ID uses your device location to drop a pin exactly where you are. If the map can’t find you, it’s almost always one of two settings — your browser’s permission for this site, or your device’s system location. Here’s how to check both.

Tip: after changing any setting below, return to Loc8ID and press Use my location again. Some browsers need a page reload before a newly-granted permission takes effect.

Step 1

In your browser

Use this when you were asked to allow location and chose Block, or the site shows a “blocked” message.

Chrome (desktop)

  1. Click the tune / site-info icon on the left of the address bar (a slider or padlock icon).
  2. Find Location and set it to Allow.
  3. Reload the page and press Use my location again.

Still can’t share your location?

You don’t need location at all — you can always search for a place or drop the pin on the map by hand on the Create page. If something still isn’t working, get in touch and we’ll help.
