Acceptable use

You may only use Loc8ID for lawful purposes. You may not create or share a Loc8ID — or attach a name, description, alias, or image — that points to or promotes:

• Spam, phishing, or fraudulent activity.
• Malware, viruses, or other harmful software.
• Content that infringes the intellectual property rights of others.
• Hate speech, harassment, threats, violence, or other illegal activity.
• Sexually explicit material, or any content harmful to minors.

Location safety

Because Loc8ID shares real places, you have a special responsibility for the locations you post. You must not:

• Share another person's home or precise whereabouts in a way that could enable stalking, harassment, doxxing, or harm.
• Use Loc8ID to identify, follow, or track a person's location without their clear consent.
• Reveal sensitive locations — such as shelters, safe houses, or a person's residence — without the right to do so.
• Share a location you do not have permission to disclose.

You are responsible for the places you share and for having the rights and consent needed to share them.

Prohibited activities

• Attempting to bypass security measures, rate limits, or plan limits.
• Scraping, overloading, or otherwise abusing our infrastructure or API.
• Automated or bulk creation of Loc8IDs without our written permission.
• Impersonating others or misrepresenting a location's nature.
• Reselling or redistributing the service except as expressly permitted.

Zero tolerance

We have zero tolerance for content that sexually exploits or endangers children, promotes terrorism, or facilitates serious harm to others. Such content will be removed and may be reported to the appropriate authorities.

Monitoring and removal

We may review public Loc8IDs and collections to check compliance with this policy. We reserve the right to expire or remove any Loc8ID, or to limit, suspend, or terminate an account, where content violates these rules or raises security concerns — with or without notice, depending on severity.

Reporting a violation

If you come across a Loc8ID or collection that breaks these rules — especially one that exposes someone's location or puts a person at risk — please report it here. We review reports and act on those that violate this policy. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services.

Privacy and data

We collect minimal information to operate the service, such as the IP addresses of visitors opening a Loc8ID. Your use of Loc8ID is governed by our Privacy Policy.

Enforcement and termination

Depending on the severity of a violation, we may issue a warning, remove content, restrict features, or suspend or terminate access to the service — at any time, and without notice where necessary to protect people or the platform. Serious or repeated violations may be referred to law enforcement.

Liability and disclaimer

Loc8ID is provided "as is." We do not guarantee the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, and, to the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damages arising from the use of any Loc8ID, including data loss or third-party claims. See our Terms of Service for the full disclaimer.

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes are posted on this page and reflected in the "Last updated" date above; please check back periodically.
